Terms of use

The rules for using this website. The rules for a particular sale live in that sale's own terms, which you accept when you register for it.

These terms govern bidding and buying at auctionmule.com, operated by

[LEGAL BUSINESS NAME] of [FULL ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). Placing a bid means

you accept them.

REGISTRATION

You must be 18 or over. You must confirm your email address and have a

valid card on file before you can bid. One account per person. You are

responsible for anything done through your account.

WE SELL ON BEHALF OF OTHERS

We are an auction house. Most lots are consigned to us by their owners.

We describe them as accurately as we can from inspection, and we

photograph what we see.

BIDDING

Bidding is by proxy. You enter the most you are willing to pay; we bid on

your behalf only as far as necessary to keep you in front. If two bidders

authorise the same maximum, the earlier bid wins.

A bid is a binding offer to buy. It cannot be retracted.

Lots close at staggered times. If a bid is placed in the final moments,

that lot's closing time extends โ€” so a lot always ends with a clear

winner rather than a race against the clock.

Some lots carry a confidential reserve. If bidding does not reach it, the

lot does not sell.

CONDITION AND DESCRIPTION

Everything is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with all faults. Items are used

unless stated otherwise. Descriptions and photographs are given in good

faith as our opinion, and are not a warranty. Estimates are opinion, not

a guarantee of value.

Inspection is available before bidding โ€” see the lot listing or contact

us to arrange it. If you cannot inspect, bid on the basis that you have

accepted the item unseen.

WHAT YOU PAY

The hammer price, plus a buyer's premium of [XX]%, plus sales tax where

it applies. The premium and tax are shown on every lot page before you

bid and itemised on your invoice.

If you pay cash at collection we discount the buyer's premium by

[3] percentage points. Your invoice shows the cash price; paying by card

charges the full amount.

PAYMENT

One invoice per auction, covering everything you won in it. Payment is

due within [7] days.

Card payment is by PayPal, from the link on your invoice. Cash is

accepted at collection. We do not accept cheques.

If an invoice is not paid, we may cancel the sale, resell the lots, and

suspend your account. You remain responsible for any shortfall.

COLLECTION AND SHIPPING

Collection from [ADDRESS] during [HOURS], by appointment, within [7] days

of the sale. Bring your invoice and photo identification.

Items not collected within [14] days may be treated as abandoned and

resold, and any storage costs charged to you.

We can arrange shipping on request for lots where it is practical.

Shipping and packing are charged separately and quoted before despatch.

Risk passes to you on collection or on despatch.

RETURNS

Auction sales are final. We do not offer returns, refunds or exchanges

because you have changed your mind or because an item is not as you

imagined it.

If a lot is materially not as described, tell us within [3] days of

collection or delivery, with photographs, and we will look into it.

CANCELLING A SALE

We may withdraw a lot before it closes, refuse a bid, or cancel a sale

where there has been an obvious error in price or description, a

technical fault, or where we believe bidding has not been genuine.

LIMITS

Our liability for any lot is limited to the amount you paid for it. We

are not liable for indirect losses, lost profit, or for downtime of the

website.

STAFF AND CONSIGNORS

Our staff do not bid on our own auctions. Consignors may not bid on their

own lots.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the law of [STATE], and disputes are subject

to the courts of [COUNTY, STATE].
